Workplace Devotional #1 -> Call to Fellowship

Perhaps the most surprising thing about coming to work in a Christian community is just how disparate, separate and disagreeable that same Christian community can be. Having been left off a roster that was supposed to introduce new staff members to the community, then lied to about that same thing, an opportunity arose to step in when the normal weekly rotation declared itself finished a week before the end of the year. Having sought permission to make an address, I was roasted for the same, by the same person who lied about the rotation of speakers in the first place. Yet we are called to be overcomers, and I stepped in all the same, to be later criticised for making the call that I had already sought and received permission to make. Yes. The same person. Please join me in prayer for my brother, that his eyes be opened to the simple truth that defence of division in the church is no defence at all, in Jesus's name.
