The second chapter of this gospel opened and explored, noting how Jesus presents Himself to three different categories of people. The simple folk he came to save, the Jewish religious leadership and the hungry wolves of Jerusalem.

The building of the first church required the calling of a group of men from a variety of different backgrounds, including one that would become the betrayer of all mankind. Dealt with in greater detail in the other Gospels, nevertheless the order and calling of the disciples here gives profound insight into the way of Jesus, the Son of God. The herald of a coming king, an itinerant preacher with a successful wilderness ministry, the cousin of Jesus, first to recognise him as a child still in the womb. The noise that always proceeds a move of God in this case, and fittingly, was a walking and talking one. Moved to preach from the Gospel of John. Not moved to check the camera's available memory, so this is an abridged retake of the original's message, now lost to antiquity and the snippets heard by various passers by. All praise, glory and honour to the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. |
