It gives me no pleasure to bring the shame of my wife's witness in our marriage before the congregation of the church, however it is necessary to expose two things. First, the errancy of her ways. Second the message of love and reconciliation that is available to her, and is a prayer of the church, that she turn and repent of her sins and return to her home. God's Spirit was present at our wedding, and I believe He will bless our union should the vows of matrimony ever be taken up again.

Have you ever felt yourself on the losing side? Have you watched as the best of your hopes and dreams become dashed in pieces. Have you become so dissolute, so overwhelmed that the very light of hope that had preceded you all your life seems all but gone out. Faced with no hope, no future, a righteous reality where even the God of Heaven may turn His back from you, where do you go? "We believe You are the One who comes from God..." said Simon Peter. Perhaps the most surprising thing about coming to work in a Christian community is just how disparate, separate and disagreeable that same Christian community can be. Having been left off a roster that was supposed to introduce new staff members to the community, then lied to about that same thing, an opportunity arose to step in when the normal weekly rotation declared itself finished a week before the end of the year. Having sought permission to make an address, I was roasted for the same, by the same person who lied about the rotation of speakers in the first place. Yet we are called to be overcomers, and I stepped in all the same, to be later criticised for making the call that I had already sought and received permission to make. Yes. The same person. Please join me in prayer for my brother, that his eyes be opened to the simple truth that defence of division in the church is no defence at all, in Jesus's name. Servant Michael Robert Jackson, June 2023 When exploring the nuance's of God's scripture, there are times when we may question the Creator's intent and action. As we grow in Spirit and faith, we begin to see an unchanging, even and completely and truly fair hand at work with the most unruly of people. I cannot say with certainty why it has taken a week to post this, except, "Here it is." A working Sabbath and the need for prayer, discernment and new-wine-skin elasticity when needs of circumstance cause us to question the right path to take. All glory to God! |
