A cold day down by the lake, amongst winter's death and decay, yet still the need for the called to stand up, and the light to shine in the darkness. Further exploration and declaration about the vision and identity of the Church of Carpe Crucis. For God's glory! Amen!

Coming clean about our failings and making a fresh start towards the overcoming is a hallmark of Christ's followers. Expected to be perfect by others, it is actually in our failings, our weaknesses and our frailty that Christ rises in us to give us strength. A time to review and reaffirm The Church Of Carpe Crucis' vision and direction. All glory to God! The paths may be crooked and the times hard, the Lord of Hosts does not change. All glory, honour, power and strength are His. May He bless and inspire through this shared word, in Jesus's mighty name. Amen! A strong sense of continuation in today's message with last week's, with a focus on shining the light of our God on the dark road that we travel. He does not change. He will accomplish all He has set Himself to do, for His name's sake. Amen! Laboured with many cares, yet the life we are called to lead must go on. It is not our light that shines but Christ's. Advice and encouragement for the beleaguered people of faith... The subtlety of our enemy, the Devil, whom Jesus called 'the Father of Lies' has had over two thousand years to manifest in this current age. Just how far his influence could reach was apparent in the first century church from Paul's letters, how much more so now? 1 Corinthians 13 is well known and often referred to as the 'love chapter'. However, Paul's teaching also contains dire warning for those who depart from the truth. Not the most catchy title, yet an unusual Sabbath, being the one between Trumpets and Yom Kippur. If we view these 'Days of Repentance' as like a yearly MoT (Warrant of Fitness, Motor vehicle check up) for our spiritual walk, then a check on our location is also moot in allowing us to walk forward in confidence. Christ is our rock and foundation, yet the place and time that this is moving through can help us in interpretation and preparation of the things to come. All glory to God! Happy New Year! No Trumpet Blast today as the 1st Tishrei falls on a Sabbath, yet still a time for celebration and the beginning of a time for awakening and reflection. Wherever you are, whatever your circumstance, are YOU prepared to take the next step towards our God? All glory to Him forever and ever! |
